Encoding of words/numbers: gone! Next to each file name In acrobat: xxx.pdf (SECURED). Adobe- fix your mess please

Contact your bank. Tell them that because of Adobe, you can't read your bank statement. Let them bring down fire and brimstone on Adobe. Maybe then they'll do something about it.

Hi All,

We have rolled out fix for this issue. Please update Acrobat Reader to the latest version and try opening the pdf files.

There is still the issue for me in Adobe Acrobat Pro that when I open pdfs, instead of opening in the Adobe Acrobat Pro app, the files actually open in a separate Adobe Acrobat Helper app window instead.

Hi @kd49396195

Could you please confirm the Acrobat version on your machine and please confirm the file is still opening as blank for you ?

Same issue here (European bank documents). From what has been said above, it's specific to bank and financial files. As for asking people to share those files with you to correct it , it's obvious than no one is comfortable with that, plus I'm quite confindent in saying that someone at Adobe has a bank account and must experience the same issue? Unless it is mandatory for U peeps to keep your money stashed under your matress? ;^)

I must remember to not drink my coffee while reading these replies. Your last sentence made me do a snort laugh and I spat my coffee all over. 🤣

I have this issue too. Can you tell me when you expect to have a fix for this. So many of my reference materials I have saved as PDFs. Not all of them are affected but most are. This is making it impossible to do my job. I really need a quick fix.

Adobe: you have all of the information you need. Asking deflecting questions doesn't help anyone. We cannot view content on bank sourced PDFs. The text is there but the text color is white on a white background. None of the long list of hoops to jump through to fix it on our end are working. Fix it.

It's happening to any PDF now in Acrobat. Here is an example PDF plus a screenshot of what is appearing in Acrobat. The text is there (can be highlighted, copied, pasted) but is invisible. I'm also sending the Acrobat version I'm using and my Mac's info. Hopefully your engineers can do something with all this info. Right now, the app is completely unusable.

I am in the same boat with my Chase statements. The January and February ones worked fine, but in the March one, only lines and graphics are visible, and the remainder of the page is white (although it does show up in the file preview in Finder (I'm on a MacBook Air). I have an older MacBook running an old version of Acrobat Reader, and I can view the same PDFs there just fine. I'm with the others who are reluctant to send PDFs because of the financial and personal information in the documents.

Hi,

Team is working to fix this issue on priority.  It would be helpful if you could share some test pdf ( if possible ) with us to ensure fix is working for your files as well.

Some redacted screenshots have already been provided. If you're asking for the full pdf file, that's not likely to happen since we are experiencing issues primarily with bank and credit card statements with personal information. I speak for myself when I say I'm not comfortable providing that, hence the redacted screenshots.

Hi there

Thanks for sharing the screenshot. However, we would need a sample PDF file exhibiting the issue, so we can get this checked by our engineering team further.

Given the sensitive nature of the information in the PDFs, perhaps you or one of your engineers could get a sample PDF from your own Chase, Bank of America, etc. account?
