malware with adobe acrobat DC

Malware infected my MACBook and after I downloaded this last week; I can't use my Chrome Browser as a default search engine anymore; Apple Care spent 8 hours trying to fix this - couldn't. Adobe won't let me have access to customer support. Online a number of people have a problem with this malware and cannot get it off their computer - despite other's recommendations on how to - I, too, have been unable to get it removed despite trying everything.
