Massive memory use Acrobat reader DC for Mac

Question

My Acrobat Reader DC uses more than 2 GB of memory, how can this be explained and fixed?

I have 7 documents open, most are a couple 100K large, and one is 4 MB. So total about 5MB open.

I have latest version: see screen shot. Any other info you require let me know.

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described the application is taking huge processor usage.

The Adobe Acrobat Reader needs 2GB RAM and 380 MB of hard disk space https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/system-requirements.html

Please try to remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer once and reinstall the application using the link https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and see if that helps.
