Missing pdf printer

My pdf printer is gone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.  I have tried to add a local printer but there is no pdf printer in the dropdown.  Last week i uninstalled and reinstalled and the printer showed up but it has since disappeared.  Suggestions?

Install Adobe Acrobat and you will get a printer named "Adobe PDF".

I cannot find the download for the Adobe Acrobat. I only see Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Pro DC (paid subscription)

Acrobat Pro DC is Adobe Acrobat.
