MUI disk required, Unable to update Reader DC

New Here ,
Oct 24, 2017 Oct 24, 2017

I'm running Windows 7 professional.  I received a prompt to update Acrobat Reader DC.  The update started, downloaded an installation file, began reading it and then stopped with this message: "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available.  Insert the 'Adobe Reader XI MUI' disk and click OK."

What should I do?

Hello KDaniel,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. As per the description above, you are not able to update the Acrobat Reader as you are getting an  error message "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available.  Insert the 'Adobe Reader XI MUI' disk and click OK.", Is that correct?

Please try the troubleshooting steps from the following KB doc Fix Windows errors that occur during Acrobat Reader update Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-errors-acrobat-reader-windows.html

If the issue persists, please use the Acrobat Cleaner tool to remove the Reader DC Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs  Link: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Restart your computer, and then download and install the Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution  Link: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Hope this helps, and let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Anand Sri.
