Hi Orchard,

As BerndAlheit mentioned above, it is not possible to add a password to PDFs in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

It is a free software and has access to limited tools.

You may add the password to multiple PDFs by creating an action in the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

However, the password will be same for all the files.

You may refer the threads with the same query below:

- Password Protect Numerous PDFs in a Batch

- set password on multiple PDF'S at the same time

Hope that answers your query.

Regards,

M

This can be done with a standalone application, if you provide it with a list of file-names and passwords for each one, or it can be set to apply a random password to each file.

I've developed very similar tools in the past so if you're interested in something like that feel free to contact me privately (try6767 at gmail.com) to discuss it further.
