My ScanSnap scanner today had an Adobe update I opted for; now the scanned documents on the monitor says Adobe Acrobat Reader DC at top, toolbars and a column of functions on right - how get rid of it?

Today my ScanSnap scanner had an Adobe update option and I answered 'yes'.  Now the scanned document image on the monitor has all sorts of junk around it; at top says Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, three rows of toolbars below and on the right a long list of functions to opt for.  It is unpresentable to send out; the recipient sees all this junk.  How can I get rid of this and just have the scanned document display only like before? ScanSnap tech support says it is an Adobe issue.

Correct answer Test Screen Name

Scansnap uses its own software to make PDF files, it does not need any of those items. However, it did include Acrobat Standard 9 (a few years ago; more recent versions include more recent software).

You can uninstall Acrobat Reader DC.

After that, start Acrobat Standard 9 and use Help > Repair

You mean you used to see a PDF with nothing around it, filling the screen? That's probably Microsoft Reader, comes with Window 8 and later. Most people hate it.

What you can see is part of Acrobat Reader. It is not part of the scanned document.

Yes, I understand that it is not part of the scanned message.  How do I get rid of that Adobe display around the document, that shrinks the document to 59% and is completely visible to recipients.  It is distracting and confusing to recipients.  How can I back out of that Adobe option?

Thanks for further help . . .

You are right that it did not show when I sent just now to someone else but it does show when I email it to my own email address.  It distracts me when I check scanned documents before sending, and I am not sure it will not reach the recipient.  I do not need or want to manipulate the scanned image, it needs to be pristine PDF.  How can I eliminate this application?

Thanks again.

You can uninstall it just like any other application on your computer. If it's a Windows machine you can do it via the Control Panel.

If it's a Mac I think you can just drag the application's icon to the Trash.
