I have adobe reader installed. Mac. Trying to download something from wells fargo. when i click on it it says i need to install adobe reader. I have run into this several times. keep download and now it says I have a newer version that whats on your website. what to do??
It could be your browser. Some browsers like Chrome and Edge use their own pdf viewers and when you try to view a pdf online (especially a fillable form), you get that message. You can try right-clicking the link to the pdf, save it to your computer, open Reader then use File>Open to open the pdf file.

Hi Mikesmith,
As per the issue description mentioned above, when trying to read a pdf, you are receiving a message to install Adobe Reader which is already present on your computer, is that correct?
Please refer to the troubleshooting steps suggested in the following links:
Tried to instal Adobe Reader on Mac, "Newest version already installed"
Adobe Acrobat DC won't open PDFs and won't uninstall
Feel free to update this discussion if you need any further help.
