New Macbook Pro: Just installed Creative Cloud and Acrobat DC won't launch

Hi!

I just got a new Macbook for work and installed all of my Adobe Creative Cloud software. I am an admin on my computer and have been able to successfully open all programs, except for Adobe Acrobat DC.

I installed it and clicked the icon to launch and immediately got an error saying "Adobe Acrobat DC quit unexpectedly". It does this every time I try starting the application. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it, I have tried shutting down my computer completely and re-launching the application and no luck. I'm still getting the same error.

Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? I've seen some posts to the same effect, but they were pertaining to Windows users, not macOS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Brianna,

Thanks for reporting this to us.

Since its a new install of Acrobat Pro DC, we are expecting it to be on the latest version.

Kindly try the troubleshooting steps suggested for the similar error here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-acrobat-pro-dc-quit-unexpectedly-when-trying-to-open-acrobat-on-mac.html

Let us know if this doesn't help.

Thanks,

Hi Akanchha, thanks for getting back to me!

I tried this and Cleaner removed/cleaned all Adobe files except for "Fix Host File", which wouldn't come off no matter what I tired. So I tried deleting all Adobe files from my Application Support folder in my Library hoping this might help. Then, I tried reinstalling Creative Cloud again and all of my Adobe software again. And Acrobat DC still did not work. I've tried all of this twice now with no luck. This is quite frustrating. I've installed, uninstalled and reinstalled all of my CC software 3 times now, it's taken hours of time and I've gotten nowhere with it. I don't know what to do.
