Question

Newly Loaded Adobe reader will not allow Certification use

I just loaded free Adobe reader to use Identrust cert to sign doc.  Identrust directions say go to "tools" on upper left of Adobe screen and sellect certificates.  Well, there is no "tools" on the upper left of my screen.  IF I go to "use certificate", all the commands are in grey and cannot be selected.  Identrust was stumped, said they had never seen an Adobe screen like mine.  Mine has Menu, home and form on the upper left.  Anyone kow how to access certifications for signing?  Last thing, when I click in the active sign block, nothing happensexcept it changes colors.  I did check that the certification was accessable and it is good to go.

Thank

Mark

I assume you mean Acrobat Reader rather than Adobe Reader (it used to be called Adobe Reader before 2015). Please show a screen shot of your Reader screen so we can see why there isn't a "Tools". I have one in my Reader.

Hi @Mark27300770gbfa,

Hope you are doing well.  Sorry for your experience with Acrobat Reader.

Since you have purchased the certificates, you might need to add them to Acrobat Reader before they are ready to use for signatures.

What we suggest is go to Edit-> Preferences-> Signature (Windows) or Acrobat Reader-> Preferences-> Signature (Mac)

On the window that comes up, add your certificate to Acrobat Reader and the next time you select the option to sign using certificate, you will be prompted to select the certificate you want to use.

Let me know if this helps.
