Notes have been erased

All of my highlighting and notes have vanished from almost two years of files from graduate classes.  I was trying to study for a comprehensive exam that's coming up that covers 3 years of material and it's gone!  All of it from two different computers that had copies of the files.  How do I get it back?

Sorry to hear about the frustrating experience.

All the highlights and notes vanished from PDFs and that is from two computers. Which application you are working on and where do you have those files saved exactly?

This is quite unreal that automatically file will loss only highlights and notes from two different computer. Is there any changes that you made into application or system? Like installing update for both or upgrading or installing new antivirus?

Other than that we don't find any genuine reason for this to be happened.
