We have an open type font (Purista) installed on our PC. It works fine with MS word etc and it shows in the fonts directory, but when I open a PDF that has it, Adobe Reader gives an error and just shows little dots instead.
Do I need to install it into Adobe Reader specifically?

Hi Lieselm,
It could be a possibility that the font is not embedded. In that case you need to do that manually, and you can also check File>Document Properties> Fonts.
You may go through the help document- PDF fonts, Adobe Acrobat where its explained description is given.

Hi Akanchha
I thought you only need to embed the font if it isn’t installed on the PC? The problem is that it’s an open type font, not true type, so it can’t be embedded.

Hi Lieselm,
I apologize for the delay in response.
What is the exact error message that you get on screen? Would that be possible for you to share the font with us?
You may check the private message where I have shared our email address.
