Opening a scan from my Hp ENVY 7640 printer

I ahve been scanning printed documents for a few years using the above HP printer and sending them to my Gmail account. Recently, every time i send a scan, I am able to open it and view it. So, it appears the file is OK. However, if I hit "download, I am asked do i want to Open or save it. Whather I hit SAVE or OPEN, I get a message the that says the file contained a virus and has been deleted. This is extremely frustrating because I know IT DOES NOT CONTAIN A VIRUS. It is something I either copied or printed off of my computer. CAn anyone provide me with a resolution. I have not had this issue in the past when using the scanning feature. Thank you,

Hmm. This doesn't appear to involve Reader or any Adobe product as far as I can tell. I would look at your AV application as the culprit first.

Thank you for your response. My confusion is I have always been able to
open a scanned document without any issues. Now, I cannot without getting a
note that it has been deleted due to a virus. I do not believe there is a
virus. The same message appears no matter what is scanned. Thanks for your
help.

What happens when you deactivate the AV app.
