Opening new tabs in the same window on Adobe Acrobat Pro DC

Hi there, 

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro Dc for work and every PDF opens as a new window. Can I open PDFs as a new tab instead of a new window? I work with a lot of PDFs at work and sometimes have 20 PDF windows open but I would much rather have them open as tabs. I have tried going into preferences --> general but then I don't see the option to chec opening new tabs instead of windows. 

Please help!
