PC clients using writable PDF file

New Here ,

I created a writable pdf file in Acrobat Pro DC, and am finding my clients that have pc's are not able to use it. For some clients when they open it, it converts it to a Word file, and for others that are actually able to open it and make changes, it will not print. Any idea what's wrong?

Not every one has Adobe Reader installed or set as the default application, so it is possible they are not using Adobe Reader. You will need to get more information from your customers because there are many reasons why they cannot ope a PDF form.

Yes, I can. I use a Mac. But it seems some of my clients that us PCs are having trouble. One client says when she click to open it, it converts it to a Word file, and another client can open it and make changes, but it will not print for her. But on my husband’s pc, he is able to open, make changes, and print!

There is a universal standard for the PDF file layout, but developers still have to write applications that can process that file type correctly. For example, Microsoft Viewer web browser can open a PDF but one cannot fill in forms with that browser.

This does help though. I guess this will not work because I have hundreds of clients that could potentially need to be sent the writable contract I created.

If they can open it, and make changes. Why would that affect being able to print it?
