PDF file on the web not displaying, blank window only

New Here ,
Mar 16, 2017 Mar 16, 2017

Using Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 10.  Acrobat Reader and Helper add-ons enabled.  Trying to open a pdf document on a web site.  Blank document only opens, often with small Adobe window showing a question mark.  Refresh or reload sometimes opens the document but not always. How do I get the pdf document to open reliably?  Thanks.

Hi Sunburst105,

I am sorry for the delay in response.

You may try the steps suggested in the link below:

Troubleshoot viewing PDF files on the web

You may also try installing the latest version of Reader as Adobe Reader 9 is not compatible with Windows 10.

Please refer to the following link:

System requirements for Adobe Reader—older versions (XI, X, 9)

Thanks,

Shivam

Hi Sunburst105,

Could you please check if there is an update available for Reader?

Launch Reader>click Help menu>select Check for Updates.

Please confirm the version of Acrobat Reader running on the machine.

Click About Adobe Acrobat Reader DC under Help menu

After having three blank windows in succession (by re-clicking "Open" each time), the fourth window did contain the document.  Any more ideas?  Thanks.

Thank you Shivam.  I was surprised to hear that my Reader v9 is not compatible with windows 10, and there were no updates available as you saw in my above comment.  I have subsequently updated to Acrobat Reader DC and the problem was resolved.

Thanks again,

Paul
