in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

You can get the free Adobe Reader here: https://get.adobe.com/reader/

To open the preview in Windows Explorer click the View tab and then on Preview Pane:

Windows 10 typically comes with its own built-in PDF viewer called Microsoft Edge. However, if you prefer to use Adobe Acrobat Reader as your default PDF viewer and want to enable file preview in File Explorer, you can follow these steps:

Install Adobe Acrobat Reader:

Download Adobe Acrobat Reader:

Install Adobe Acrobat Reader:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Set Adobe Acrobat Reader as Default PDF Viewer:

Open Settings:

  • Right-click on the Start button and select "Settings" or press Windows key + I to open Settings.

Go to Apps:

  • In the Settings window, click on "Apps."

Default Apps:

  • In the left sidebar, select "Default apps."

Set Default PDF Reader:

  • Scroll down to the "PDF Reader" section.
  • Choose "Adobe Acrobat Reader" from the list.

Enable PDF File Preview in File Explorer:

Open File Explorer Options:

  • Open File Explorer (Windows Explorer).
  • Click on the "View" tab at the top and then click on "Options" on the right side.

Folder Options:

  • In the Folder Options window, go to the "View" tab.

Enable Preview Pane:

  • Check the box for "Show preview handlers in preview pane."

Apply Changes:

  • Click "Apply" and then "OK" to apply the changes.

Additional Steps:

Restart File Explorer:

  • Sometimes, changes might not take effect until you restart File Explorer. You can do this by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting "Task Manager." Find "Windows Explorer" in the list, right-click it, and choose "Restart."

Restart Your Computer:

  • In some cases, a restart might be required to ensure that all changes take effect.

Please note that the steps and options might vary slightly based on the Windows 10 version you are using, and Adobe Acrobat Reader might have undergone updates. If you encounter any issues or if there are changes after my last update, you may want to refer to the latest documentation or support resources from Adobe and Microsoft for the most accurate information.

Hi there, thank you! All these steps described above, I've done: with no result. I've done even more: repairing the CC cloud app. The only thing remains for me is removing the CC Creative Cloud app completely and all of its components , restarting, Cleaning manually the REG-app removing all the adobe connotations, again restarting, and undergoing a new install of the CC cloud app with all the components I use. I will do this and then I hope, ...
Nevertheless, I live in despair, sometimes: the grade of difficulty some programmers build in their software installation, ... Or is this caused by some third party software on my machine (all bought officially!) ... Who knows, ... Nevertheles, thank you for supporting, best regards, Bye
