Hello - have scanned pdfs on pc and recently a number of them will not open. "Error [PDF Structure 40]:Invalid file format" appears and also "Adobe Acrobat reader could not open [.......file.......] because it is either not a supported file type or because th efile has been damaged etc....". Also have sometime error "...%..." reported.
Fortunately many pdfs open fine.
Have reinstalled Acrobat DC but still many pdfs do not open.
It occurs it may be due to a reversion to a restore point that failed to work recently.
A scan of hard drive did not show any issues after this failed restore however a new attempt to restore also failed.
Is this an issue that could indicate an answer?
Need urgent help please.
Thank you.

The error messages you quote don't all come from Adobe software. Some is from different makers. Since two independent pieces of software agree I think we can say with high probability that the PDF files really are bad. So, don't spend time looking for system issues or problems with the reader software. Focus instead on how the PDF files are produced and handled.
