PDF problems with Acrobat Reader

I work on OpenOffice. I've always used PDF form to protect my documents, and work, and haven't had any problems until now.

Acrobat Reader is all over the place and impossible to open files (yes, I know, we can use "open with") and if so, it's an editing app meaning

anyone can copy, modify, work on my docs which is not the objective. This is not what I need nor want, but PDFs as before.

Most annoying.

Any sugestions?

Nothing has changed. Making a PDF was never intended as a protection from anything.

Yes, I know and never thought of.
But PDF was/is a solution when everyone works on different systems which is
my case since I work with a multitude of corporate clients.

Clear, simple descriptions of an issue are a key component of asking for help.  Please state the specific issue you are experiencing, as completely as possible, without any extraneous information.

problem himself.
Acrobat Reader is fine if you're an editor, publisher, or related work as
collaborating on a research paper, proposal, etc..... as you may know.
This was not the PDF app I've had for years where I've been able to write
training/pedagogical docs and then put it into PDF before printing. It was
fixed doc, not editing as now.

Hi Finian27800168inmi,

Thank you for reaching out.

Try reinstalling Acrobat Reader. Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html).

Reboot the machine and install Acrobat from the following help page: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Could you please let us know what happens when you try to open the PDF in Acrobat Reader? Do you get any error messages?

How are you currently opening PDFs? Would you mind sharing the screenshot or the screen recording?

Share the Acrobat and OS versions on the machine.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
