Hi, I received a pdf file by email, and I need to know when it was last modified.

But in the Properties section, I see the current time both in the General and in the Details tag.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Before opening the file, try disabling JavaScript (under Edit - Preferences - JavaScript).

Oh, I got it. In Acrobat Reader.

I did it. It still shows the current time when right clicking the file in a folder, but when opening it in AR, the properties display the creation date. The "modified" field is empty, but the creation date is something too. Thanks.

The Date and Time you are seeing in Finder is the date and time you Saved it to the hard drive in your computer. The File Creation Date/Time.
