Poster Printing Not Working

Hi All,

So I've been poster printing with Reader for a while now and it has always worked fine; however, recently it has stopped working. At first it was greyed out and I read from some other people on here that you have to turn off "Print As Image". However, when I do that and select poster printing, it will only print my PDF on one page and normally instead of like a poster. This was working fine last week and suddenly it's not anymore. I have double checked that my adobe does need to be updated, and I have tried poster printing on some of the file that woere working last week and got the same issues. I'm on a Mac Running Ventura 13.0 if that helps. Any suggestions on how to get poster printing working again?

Thanks!

March 18 2024 ---- I am having the same poster printing failure.  I have event posters to make and I am now dead in the water.   Both my printers refuse to go into Adobe poster mode, so it definately seems to be software issue.

I'm having the exact same issue.  I've spent hours researching and trying to print a poster from a pdf!  It only prints one page of the poster pages.   Ugh! I'm so frustrated!

I wanted to add my work around solution which may shed some light on the problem with Poster Printing.  I have two Apple Mac Mini's that I use for my graphic work.  My current system is a MacMini M1 running MacOS Monterey ver 12.7.2 with 16GM memory and Acrobat Reader 2024.001.20631.  This MacMiniM1 system NO LONGER SUPPORTS POSTER PRINTING.  I went back over to my old system which is Mac Mini (Late 2012) 2.5GHz Dual Core Intel i5 with 16GB Memory MacOS Catalina Version 10.15.7 running Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Version 2022.001.10169.   These are two different versions of the reader...but my problems with the M1 seems to likely have occured after an automatic MacOS update from Apple, as I never changed the version of Adobe Reader when it failed.  I reinstalled Acrobat Reader on the MacMiniM1 ONLY AFTER I ENCOUNTERED THE POSTER PRINTING PROBLEM.   That re-install offered no resolution to the problem.  Poster Printing button is still greyed out.   --->   My theory is that this may be a Mac OS update that destroyed the Poster Printing, not an Adobe issue.  I would be curious if people using MS Windows computers are seeing the exact same poster printing problem or if this is exclusively a Apple Mac problem.  If anyone else is having poster printing problems,  lets get them to state what system, operating system, and version of Acrobat Reader running so we can correlate where this problem is occurring.  It appears that Adobe is doing nothing about it so it is up to us in Community to solve the problem.

I forgot to mention that when I went back over to my old system which is Mac Mini (Late 2012) 2.5GHz Dual Core Intel i5 with 16GB Memory MacOS Catalina Version 10.15.7 running Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Version 2022.001.10169 poster printing worked and I was able to get my work completed.

Any ideas on what to do in the meantime?  I need this poster done for an event tomorrow.

I am having this exact problem. Just downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader today. Using Mac OS 14.6. Anything to report on a fix? All sewing patterns and craft templates require this function and, weirdly, Adobe Reader seems to be the only app that can do it. Thank you!

I think I have a work-around for this problem for you.  I don't use Mac so I can't absolutely guarantee that this suggestion will work.  However, it seems the poster print option in Foxit PDF Reader Mac version does work for that level of Mac OS. Foxit does have a free Reader version.  Just make sure you don't download the "free trial" or say "yes" when it asks if you want the pay version when you install it.  And by the way, as I understand it. the bug is in Mac OS, not necessarily in Adobe Acrobat.  The reason I think this is that Adobe Acrobat Reader poster option works everywhere, even in older versions of Mac OS, except for the latest version of Mac OS.  So the new version of Mac OS you just installed has the bug, nowhere else.  If you have any windows device, you can use that.  So though the bug presents in Adobe, Mac seems to be the cause.  But what do I know?  I really could be wrong.  So don't hold your breath for a fix from Adobe.  And as for Mac, good luck with that, apparently.  This problem has been around forever and no one wants to own it.  It is a bit Ironic that this Mac problem is driving Adobe users to the competition.

Hi tanya_4522,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please confirm the Acrobat version currently in use on your Mac? Ensure that you are using the latest version. You may refer to the following help page to check the latest version available: https://adobe.ly/3TfPYfL

To check the Acrobat version, refer to the steps suggested here: https://adobe.ly/3X9c7NY

If the issue occurs with the latest version, share the screen recording. We will get this checked.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
