Preferences are saving in Adobe Acrobat DC

I have version 2018.011.20058 and no updates are available. I'm trying to keep the Tools Pane from opening every time I open a document so I went to Edit->Preferences->Documents->Open Settings and checked the box for "Remember current state of the Tools Pane." When I click from Documents to something else like General the box for "Remember current state of the Tools Pane" or any other changes I've made remain checked; however, if I close the preferences window and then reopen it, then all of my changes have reverted back (e.g., the box for "Remember current state of the Tools Pane" is now unchecked). I've seen other threads with screenshots showing an Okay button to click after making changes to preferences but that's not an option for my version.

Thoughts?

Thanks for your help!

You must click the OK button, changes are not made until you do. Perhaps your screen is too small to show it. Maybe pressing Enter will work.

I hooked up to a 23" external monitor, and that did the trick. It's definitely a bug though that the okay button doesn't show up on a 13" screen.

In the preferences you can enable the entry 'Scale for screen resolution'.
