I have an issue with certain pdfs not printing all fonts. When I view the image within reader everything appears fine, but once I open my print preview screen some of the font is missing. The font is also missing when I actually print. I am printing from a web supplied pdf, but the same thing happens if I download the file as well. This only occurs with adobe reader, other PDF viewers display and print this text just fine. I have reader set to use local fonts but have also unchecked the option and tried with the same results. The printer itself has no ability to control the fonts it prints, so that's not the issue. When printing from Foxit reader everything displays and prints just fine. This only occurs with a few PDFS out of 200k. any ideas?

Could it be that this text is actually a part of a comment, and not real static text? What happens when you click on that text? Does a blue "selection" square appear around it?
Also, what version of Reade are you using, and what's your OS?

When I click on the text a blue square appears around it, the version is adobe acrobat reader DC and the OS is windows 7 ultimate. Another thing worth mentioning is that one part of the missing text, a /, prints and shows up in print preview just fine. and like I said, this only happens in adobe. If I open it an Foxit or copy it and past into an openoffice draw page all the text is there and prints. Normally it wouldn't bother me, but the issue is 14 hours a day I'm not at this computer and employees can't print the labels they need because the text is missing, and its impossible to get 300+ people trained on how to work around it. I would just switch readers but unfortunately every other reader out there prints the colors of the labels wrong, an issue I could not figure out for the life of me. At this point I'm forced to keep a separate folder with corrected PDFs in it just so I can print them right.

Yes, in that case it's a comment, as I've suspected.
What you need to do is make sure that the option "Document and Markups" is selected under "Comments & Forms" in the Print dialog:

It has always been set that way, I have tried the other options as well and it hasn't fixed it. I don't know what else to do, but thank you for trying to help.

i realize I might have misunderstood what you meant by blue box. when I click the text it all highlights blue, not a blue box per say. ive looked over the document, the text is part of a layer with other text in it that prints fine, even the / in the midst of the missing text prints fine, but an letters before or after the / don't print at all, its driving me crazy because its a new type of label that's going to become very common soon and its going to be a big problem because only acrobat prints the greys of these label properly so I have to use it.
