Hello. New here right now lol. I just started using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC more in the last 6 months downloading User Guides for products and programs etc. I have Version 17.009.20058   Windows 10 Anniversary 1607 latest version Desktop. Perfect working order. I have a 6 month old HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 4 in one printer that works perfectly. Here is my problem and I have been beating my brains out on this for 5 months now. I have read everything I can get my hands on from Adobe and Web Sites and I cannot find anything that addresses my problem. When I click on the printer icon to print something it will not print in the font size I want or fit the page. No matter what I do most times the print comes out microscopic and u never know how much of the page it will fill but, yet when I click on the Fit button the preview page always shows it fitting the whole page but, never prints that way. The Custom print no matter what I try to set the % to it is usually too wide and not nearly tall enough. I am not going to list all the things or combinations I have tried to get this to work. The first problem is when I click on the printer Icon and the pop up Print box comes up with the Fit, Custom , Page setup etc etc the Current pages and Pages button do not light up. The are always greyed out and I cannot use them. If u go to the Page Setup page the Margins choices are greyed out. If  use the zoom it still prints the way it wants to no change still not like I want it. I have read that some of the companies or whatever have their print like pre set and it doesn't matter how u set things up it will come out small???? I must be missing something here? I have tried all kinds of letter sizes etc. Is there some kind of Default setting to set everything back to a Default setting? I may have checked something and screwed things up. I have looked in the ? Help section in the upper right corner. Hope someone understands this. Thanks for any help I am going  crazy over this.

Hi drdoo2,

Please try to Repair the installation. For that, launch the application and go to Help menu > Repair Installation.

Also try once the troubleshooting steps provided here: Troubleshoot PDF printing in Acrobat and Reader

As you said that the current page and Pages button does not light up in the Print window, it seems that you are trying to print a single page PDF.

The options are available when the pages on PDF is more than one.

In the Page Setup window, the margin always grayed out. It is a designed behavior.

The margin is set to 1 by default from all sides.

Let us know if the issue still persists.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Thanks for ur reply. I did the Repair Installation and clicked on ur link and went to the page to Troubleshoot PDF Printing ... and I feel pretty stupid as it says " Try Printing this Page". Well, I don't see how to print the page??? I don't see an icon of a printer to click on and I have right and left clicked on the screen. I can blue it up and print it on Word but that always works. I assume u want it printed on Adobe Acrobat? So, how do I print the page? Thanks.

Ok, Firefox views PDF files without involving Acrobat Reader at all. So you need to download the file, and then open it in Reader.

I'm sorry but, I feel pretty stupid right now. I don't know what u mean by this " So you need to download the file, and then open it in Reader."  Download what file? And download the " file " from where? U mean dowload Adobe Acrobat DC? If so but, I don't think that is what u mean it is in my Programs and Features now. " Open it in Reader" Ok once I know what " file" u are talkiing about how or where do I " open " it in Reader?

I apologize

Hi Pat,

Sorry for the delay in response.

You need to download the file that you are trying to open on Firefox.

Then open the saved file using Adobe Acrobat/ Acrobat Reader desktop application you have.

Check if you still experience any issue.

Let us know if you need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi
