Hi.

I´m having some trouble with the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC installation. I recently tried to update to the newest version, but it failed, so I uninstalled the program and downloaded the newest version. But when the installation it´s about to finish (90%), it stops and this message appears:

There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action InstallWebResources, location: C:\...\RdrServicesUpdater.exe, command: 19.008.20071

I tried to install the KB2999226-x64 update, but it´s not possible. It says something like: The update is not applicable to the system

Do you have 64bit or 32bit system?

You need to install appropriate one for your system.

64bit, but it didn't work. And after trying the update for 64bit, I tried the 32bit just in case. The result was the same.

Please use this link, select your exact system and try again.

There is no way around it except installing older version from Adobe FTP site.

Hi again. The link is the for the same update I already tried before (KB2999226-x64 update), so the result was the same: The update is not applicable to the system (and yes, it´s a Windows 7, 64bit system).

I will try an older version from Adobe FTP site. But I´m afraid that, if it works, I´ll be again in the beginning: not possible to update to the newest version...

Anyway, thanks a lot for the help.

Andrew,

You are right to be concerned using older, possibly not secure version.

One more try - did you check if you have Service Pack 1 installed?

It is a prerequisite for this update.
