Problems installing Adobe Acrobat

New Here ,
Oct 17, 2018 Oct 17, 2018

I can't install the Adobe Acrobat Reader, since it always tells me that i have a newer version. The Adobe Cleaner says otherwise, it tells me that i neither have the reader, not the Acrobat. I tried different download files, switching browser, running as admin etc.

nothing helps.

since a lot of people seem to be having this problem I suggest you run a patch on your files.

Hello Raiden,

We're sorry for the trouble you had while installing Adobe Reader, please reboot the machine once, then use Acrobat cleaner tool to remove any corrupt or conflicting installation files of Adobe Reader and previously installed Adobe Reader Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine again and download the setup of Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Assuming you are on Windows machine,

Locate the setup and Right-click on the setup file and click on ‘properties’.

Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/7 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.

Once this is done, restart the computer and locate the Adobe Reader icon, right click and select 'Run as Administrator'.

Then from help menu>check for updates and install the latest patch of Adobe Reader 19.008.20074

** Please disable any security software you have during the installation process for temporarily.

If you still experience any issue, please create a test user profile with full admin rights and check.

What is the version of the OS installed?

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Hello,

none of this has worked so far.

Another information: The installation runs fine until the last step, in which it says: "the product data is being published" (this is a translation from german, it may be not the exact words)

After this sentence it crashes, the shown error message pops up and the installation is reversed.

Nor the Adobe Acro Cleaner, nor the CC Cleaner, not the cmd line can find any installation files.

If I try downloading the Reader directly from the website, it nearly completes the setup, but then again it says I already have a newer version installed.
