Does anybody have problems with the new version of Acrobat Reader? It's extremely slow, especially when I try to open two documents at the same time. Any clue? Thanks.

Dear Anand,

I've solved the problem following the instructions from other forum. In Edit/Preferences I've unchecked 'Activar modo protegido al iniciar'. (Sorry, my version is in Spanish. The translation would be something like 'Activate protect mode to iniciate').

And it works properly now!

Thank you for your interest.

Hello Conchao,

We're sorry for the trouble you had with Adobe Reader, what is the dot version of Adobe Reader installed? To identify the version, please take help from the article Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Navigate to Adobe Reader's preferences from Edit>Preferences>General>uncheck these two options 'Show online Storage when opening files' and 'Show online Storage when closing files'>Click OK>Close Adobe Reader, launch it back and check.

Is Adobe Reader is slow while opening all the PDF files or with some specific PDF files? Which operating system/version are you on?

Reset Adobe Reader's preferences once and reboot the machine, to reset the preferences, refer to the help article How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

My version is 2019.008.20074

I've unchecked General options as recommeded above, but it doesn't work.

Problems are with any PDF file. My operating system is Windows 10.

Is there any way to restore previous version?

I just want to get back to the Acrobat Reader version (free).

I DON'T WANT Cloud !!!

I DON'T WANT ANY DOCUMENTS IN THE CLOUD!!!

I don't want an Adobe pop-up opening all the time in my screen inviting me to "surf" in the new version!!! Just wasting my time!

PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO DO IT IN "WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE 32 BITS".

I want this stupid new software OUT of my computer slowing down my work.

And I want the anterior version back. If you tell me how to do it I will be grateful.

Finally, how can I BLOCK the installation of new versions without my PREVIOUS permission?
