Problems with the new version of acrobat reader

Until the latest update of  Reader I could use the scan function to copy images from parts of a pdf converting them to a jpg so I could past it into different apps. Is this funtion now only available if I pay the $24 a month?!?

    It was never free in Acrobat Reader
