RdrCEF.exe Application Error- Acrobat Reader DC

I have loaded and reloaded Adobe DC Reader and every time I open a PDF file I get this error message RdrCEF.exe. It is annoying. What gives and how do I get rid of this message?

Hi Coachej,

In order to fix the error message appears on the screen You may try the following steps-

  • Check the updates for the application.

        Launch Adobe Reader>Help>Check for update

  • If that doesn't work, then you may refer to the forum thread RdrCEF.exe Application error when opening Reader where similar issue has been addressed.
  • Follow the  suggestions which were marked "Helpful". Because those suggestions have fixed the problem for some users.

Let us know if non of the solution works for you.

Please provide following information if you observe the issue even after updating application to latest version of it :

  • platform/OS Information
  • Reader DC Version
  • Provide exact steps when seeing error
  • Screenshot of the error
  • Screenshot of the Task manager, make sure RdrCEF.exe is shown in the screenshot
