I am so shocked and frustrated with the AWFUL new look of the Acrobat Reader. I just want the previous version back onto my computer. How can I do that? I HATE these terrible changes that have slowed down my productivity lately, and I honestly do not care to learn this awful new version. I need HELP urgently! And here is my promise: I will NOT renew my Adobe subscription until you clearly allow us to choose which version we want to use.
Hi All!
Hope you are doing well.
We acknowledge that the new Acrobat represents a notable change; however, we hope that as you get familiar with the new interface, you can be more productive and get more out of Acrobat.
We are actively working on any unavailable features, such as customizing the All Tools positioning or user interface. And we will address them with the highest priority.
A point to note is that as we made these changes in the interface, we have ensured all tools & features

This doesn't work for me. I already installed and reinstall it twice, used the adobe cleaner after each uninstallation. I still have the same issue.

It is not simpler nor is it more intuitive. It's absolutely terrible. Please tell Adobe to stop fixing stuff that is not broken.

Sorry but I actually find it less intuitive than before.

Thank you so much for your help, Amal. Such a simple solution and I couldn't even see it. As you can see, the new UI can be very confusing and not intuitive at all for some people.
I have just disabled the awful new format, and now I am back to the old Adobe look.
Thank you again and all the best.

Thank you Renato for asking the question and Amal for the, with hindsight, simple answer.

I absolutly agree with Renato's opinion on the new interface, its horrible and max. non-intuitive. Why destroying a productive tool while you could use your time to make something useful? Some of my colleagous have already changed to another vendor because of this not cusomter-focused strategy.

A point to note is that as we made these changes in the interface, we have ensured all tools & features that are currently supported retain their familiar functionalities and workflows as they did in the previous version. We proactively address any gaps or issues users report regarding any break in current workflows.
If your critical workflows are impacted, you can switch to the old UI from the “Menu” on the top left corner of Windows OS and View Menu on MacOS. We will follow up with a detailed community-featured post, guiding you to familiarise yourself with the new interface and regular updates on upcoming changes.
We will follow up on this response with a detailed article explaining the changes, a guide to help familiarise you with the new interface, and regular updates on upcoming changes.
Thank you once again for your feedback, and do look forward to our upcoming releases!

Back to the future! The state of play as at October 2012 was quite similar: "You are not alone, many users are frustraded by the "minimalistic user interface" in Acrobat X which was a big step backwards from prior versions. It's unfortunate that someone decided that more mouse clicks are desirable for simple functions. It's totally baffling that the docking toolbars function was removed, maybe if programmers who actually use Acrobat were employed we would see more common sense/intuitive functionality. I'm hoping that all of the shortcomings you mentioned will be reinstated in XI."
AFAIK, it's still impossible to dock the toolbar in what I'm sure the UI team at Adobe believed would be "new and greatly improved" interface. However I rather doubt any were employed by Adobe in 2012, or in 2017 (https://acrobat.uservoice.com/forums/590923-acrobat-for-windows-and-mac/suggestions/18827671-dock-pr...), otherwise surely they'd have stalled the release of the new interface until it had that feature! It's a deal-breaker for me. I had been (grudgingly) willing to retrain my brain's "wetware" to conform to the requirements of Adobe's new software until I ran up against this!

Hey Adobe, "disable" worked for a few months, but now the view has changed again. I hate that change you've done to the thumbnail menu thing. I want to have my page thumbnails along the left side with my options above that. Please just change it back to how it was!!! I get it--programmers have to justify their existence, so they need to come up with projects to keep busy. Please invent new software and stop messing with existing apps. You waste hours of my day every time you change my programs.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback.
We understand the change in the experience may initially impact you. However, once you get familiar with the new Adobe Acrobat, its simplified interface will help you quickly discover tools and complete your PDF tasks efficiently. For detailed information on the new experience, please refer to the following help document: https://adobe.ly/4cvfdl7.
I suggest sharing suggestions/ feedback on the new experience directly with the product team using the following page: https://adobe.ly/3AaSxJp. The team reads messages and uses the information to improve our products and services.
Thanks,

I agree with everyone else who is not happy with the new interface of Acrobat Reader that has slowed down my productivity. Why is there a need for a weaker interface than the previous one? Have you received many complaints from users about that?
I followed your advice to Disable New Acrobat Reader. The application restarts, but again the new interface appears, without any changes. I also restarted the computer, but in vain.
I also tried installing an older, more user-friendly version, but after a while the application updated automatically, without asking my permission.
What is to be done?

That is incorrect. I have been using it for quite a whle and still do not like it. There is absoluetly nothing intuative about it. It just plain sucks.
