I did what you suggested but it still won't let me sign the PDF document.  Any suggestions?

What have you tried, and what is your specific situation?

Are you using Reader? Which version?

How did you create your signature? Did it work before? Is the problem also that you forgot the password or is it something else?

    Please give details.

This is what helped for me as I just ran into this problem myself and couldn't find a clear answer, only bits and pieces I plugged together.

I found it at this link on my computer:

    C:\Users\(my user name)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security

Then I saw my name listed in that Security file with a .pfx format, and deleted it.

If this is not the same path for you, you can find your path by setting up a new digital ID.

To create that, click where you want to sign and a window will pop up. At the bottom select Configure New Digital ID.

Go through the steps and once you get to the end, it will ask you where you want to save it (selected by default as well) and you can go to that path select via your windows explorer.

    Hope this helps someone!
