Reader DC "send file as e-mail attachment" button not working: Outlook 2016

Guest
Oct 18, 2016 Oct 18, 2016

I have four or more affected systems with managed users and domain admins all reporting the same issue.  All systems running current software.  Reader DC "send file as e-mail attachment" does not open a new outlook e-mail window and as a result does not attach file.

I've already tried all available preference settings, how to fixes found.  Reader is configured correctly.

Hi,

Sorry about the issues with “Attach to email” functionality in latest update of Acrobat. Our team has identified the root cause and is working proactively towards a fix soon.

Meanwhile, as a temporary workaround, there is a registry setting that can restore the functionality at your end. If there are critical workflows blocked at your end, you may follow the steps given below to apply the same:

  1. Download the RegKey file applicable to your configuration – 64 bit or 32 bit from the link here: https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/58979b17-5cd9-4aec-9727-cb995a1366ea

may I have the workaround also - and don't forget to inform us, when a solution is ready

I just do a "workaround" with saving the file and do a new e-mail with attaching this - hope there is a more optimized solution

i have Windows 10 (32- and 64-bit), Office 2016 (32- and 64-bit) and multiple Adobe programs (Reader, Reader DC, Acrobat....) - I don't know why, but on all I have problems with sending as attachment and filling forms with using send by reader programs.

thanks in advance

I'd like the workaround sent to me, too, please. Or, you could post the workaround here, since it seems so many of us have this issue. Thanks.

Ours is 64bit.  Had a phone message over the weekend that Adobe tried to call me (umm, I don't work weekends!) so I called them back just to ask if what they had me try of installing the 2010 MS Visual C+++ Redistributable fixed my problem.  I told them on FRIDAY, that it didn't.  So he said he will prioritize this to urgent and get back to me...again.  What do they do, they call me (when I'm on the phone), leave a message and SAME THE SAME DARN THING!!!  Now they said they would call me back in a half hour, which has been a half hour ago!  Not getting lunch hour.  I really think they have no idea how to fix this.

I have two case numbers to Adobe support as of today.  They said they need to escalate to their Senior people and it will take 48-72 hours before I'd get a call.  Looks like they've known about this issues for awhile.  This is what's happening to us:

64BitMAPIBroker.exe error when opening new message thru Adobe Reader's
email mailto: button. Last week it worked, but now when users open an .PDF what
has a mailto: button setup, it pops up an error of 64bitmapibroker.exe
referencing mso20win32client.dll. It shows on Win 7 user computers, with Win
10, it shows up in the Event Viewer. We have Office 365, so we tested a
computer that only has the CD ver of Office 2016, and it works fine there. We
removed Office 2016 and installed Office 365 and the error happens again.
Outlook is suppose to open a New Message with the .PDF automatically attached
and the mailto: filled out. Help!

I have a Surface and it does open a new message when I click on the
email button. It only has Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable. So I made my
computer the same, removing 2005 and 2010 software, rebooted, and didn't work.
Then tried to download the 2010 like Tech Gurvinder suggested, rebooted and still
same error in Event Viewer. Had my assistant do the same and doesn't work. so
the solution he gave me doesn't fix our problem.

If there is a work around, I'd like to know it please... Thank you!
