I am sorry, these maneuvers did not work.

Would it be possible for a support person to log into my computer remotely and troubleshoot?

    Thank you

    Hi,

We have released an update today that fixes the crash issue. This update will be automatically applied to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader DC. You can also open Acrobat or Reader DC and visit Help > Check for updates to make sure you are on the latest patch.

Details about the release: Acrobat Help | Release notes | Acrobat DC, Acrobat Reader DC | Update

Please let us know how it goes.

    Hi Srivallin81266802,

Please try the troubleshooting steps mentioned below-

    Solution-1

    1- Close Acrobat Reader

2- Locate Reader shortcut on desktop>right click>select Properties>under Compatibility tab>check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows 7 from the drop down options>click Apply>OK

    3- Relaunch Adobe Reader.

    Solution-2

If solution-1 doesn't work then try disabling the protected view for testing purpose and see if that helps.

    Edit>Preferences>Security(enhanced)>Protected View Off

*Please Enable the Protected view if it works, as its not recommended to keep the security turned off.

Protected View feature for PDFs (Windows), Adobe Reader

*If the solutions mentioned above doesn't work then please try creating the hidden administrator account and then launch the Acrobat Reader DC to see if that helps.

    Regards,

    Akanchha

Thank you for your quick response. Your instructions below reference Windows 7, but I am operating in W 10. Does that matter? Please advise.

Also, what is a hidden administrator account?

Surly, I understand your concern about operating system.

this is the workaround that we have followed and it has helped resolving this issue. it is to check and get a confirmation whether it is an issue with the specific OS Windows 10 or any other OS as well.

Also, hidden administrator is an another admin account on your computer that would have the admin privileges and very few(default) applications running in the background.

Please follow the step-A to know how to enable the Hidden Admin-
