Reader will not open downloaded files

I am using Windows 10 verson 1903.

I have my Adobe reader as the default reader so that it opens whenever I download a pdf. It has stopped being able to open new files. All I get is a message saying the file cannot be found.

I tried downloading from several sources and have updated to the latest version of Acrobat.  Nothing is working. I can still open the files on my computer but canot downloan new ones.

What could have changed?

I am going to withdraw this post. I realize the reader will open some PDFs and not others. I will find out why or find a work around.

Hi Bluzebra,

Can you help me with your Reader version and Your browser details? What action do you perform when you get file can not be found error?

There are several version types. There is the continuous release version, the version file version, the AGM version, the CoolType version, the core version, and the JP2K version.

The continuous release version is 2019.021.20058.

My browser is Firefox version is 71.0

To get the message I just select the download button on whatever site I am on. Adobe reader opens but the message comes up.
