Removing/Deleting Protected Documents in Home Tab on my Mac

I  have at least 5 documents sent to me for signature, which I either signed a few years ago or ignored recently, yet they show up in my Home tab in Adobe Reader DC (non-subscription) version Architecture: x86_64
Build: 19.21.20061.361316
AGM: 4.30.98
CoolType: 5.14.5
JP2K: 1.2.2.44947

Version 2019.021.xxxxx

I'm running OSX 10.15.3

 

These clutter up my home page recent list, which I try to keep organized, easy to use.  These documents are scattered all over the list.  When I select them they say "Protected Document".  I've tried to clear them from my Adobe Reader cloud account but that has not been fruitful.

 

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting the issue.

This is the expected behavior for sign agreement. As you will continue using app, these files will go down in recent list. 

There is an alternate way of doing this by setting a registry, applying which will never show shared files (Review, Send and Track and Sign agreement) in recent list.

Do let me know if you need registry details to disable shared file in recent list.

Charu, thanks for helping. Yes I could use detailed instructions for keeping these agreements out of my recents list.

Disclaimer: This procedure involves editing the plist. Make sure to back up the plist before editing it.

Steps to apply feature lockdown of shared files in recent files:

  1. Go to page: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/PrefRef/Macintosh/FeatureLockdown.html
  2. Search for bMixRecentFilesFeatureLockDown
  3. Edit your plist using this registry information
  4. Set it to 1 to remove shared files from recent list
  5. Restart your machine
