Save as PDF, New Folder and Rename Folder - Hangs Acrobat for 30 seconds

Hi there,

I have stumbled onto a rather obscure issue and not sure how to resolve it.

When reading any PDF in Acrobat Reader DC, if I got to "Save as" navigate down to a folder (local drive, haven't tried this on network shares) - if I create a new folder and then type a name for it - Acrobat hangs (goes Not Responding) for 30-60 seconds.

Eventually it does come back, but it seems to just hang for some reason.

What' I've discovered is - If I disabled and Stop the Windows Search service this issues immediately goes away. Re-enable and it's back, disable and it goes. It's certainly related.

What I've tried:

* Full / clean remove and re-install of Acrobat.

* Disabled the security settings in Acrobat, makes no different.

* Disabled drive indexing (at drive top level only)

* Added drive and folder paths to the trusted paths.

* Disabled all 'recent files' and remember recent documents settings in acrobat.

Disabling Windows Search is annoying as it affects other applications that behave perfectly fine. Outlook searching for email with Cached-Mode enabled relies on the content index from Windows Search to make it swift and usable.

But for some reason Acrobat just doesn't like it.

Would love to find a workable solution - but nothing I can find online seems to point to this same error/issue.

OS is Windows 10. Acrobat is current version.
