Saving PDF files on Adobe Reader to my MacBook

New Here ,
Sep 11, 2017 Sep 11, 2017

I am not able to save any PDF forms to my MacBook.  Any thoughts/tips?  Every time I click Save As, I get a pop-up that says "Data typed into this form will not be saved.  Adobe Reader can only save a blank copy of this form."  I need to save certain forms so I can upload them to a website for work.  Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

You mean Adobe Reader version 10.1.10?

To Save such form you need  Adobe Acrobat (Paid application) to first save it as Reader Extended enabled.

However, you can give a try installing the latest version of Adobe Reader- Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

Hi Karenw,

As per the above description, assuming that you are using the Acrobat Reader DC?

These type of forms generally created using "Live cycle designer" application.

Right click on document>Document properties>Description.

When the form was created the form should have been saved as "Reader Extended PDF" then only a end user can save a copy of the PDF.

If the PDF has already been Reader extended enabled, then you need to Acrobat DC (paid application) to enable "Reader Extended PDF".

Exactly as explained in the forum thread- "Data typed into this form will not be saved"

Hi,

Thank you for getting back with me.  Right now, I've got version 10.1.10.  Do I need to upgrade?

Thank you!

Hi,

Yes, that's the Adobe Reader version I had.  I did do the update to the latest version and that seemed to fix the problem!  Thank you so much for your help.  I appreciate it!
