Searching in Portfolio

New Here ,
Aug 31, 2017 Aug 31, 2017

I am needing to know how to search for a PDF document that was saved within a Portfolio somewhere on my desktop. Is there a way to search all of the Portfolios at once or do I have to open each one separately and then perform the search. Everything that I have read so far indicates that the portfolio has to be open to search within it. Is this the case?

Hi KellyeFAA,

As per the description above, you are not able to search a PDF file in a Portfolio, Is that correct?

You may try to search the PDF file with its  Name in Windows Explorer  if you are using a Windows machine, and can use Find option in Mac Os.

If you are not aware of the PDF file name, then, unfortunately,  there is nothing much can be done in order to search the PDF file.

You have to open all Portfolios to search the PDF.

Does that include word documents within the portfolio? Let's say I have 10 portfolios and I saved a word document within one of the 10 portfolios. I know the name of the document but do not know which portfolio I saved it in. Would I have to open each portfolio to search for the specific document?

For this, you can use the Windows Explorer Search option in  Windows and Find in Mac, you might have to select the entire directory to search the File with the File Name.
