Send to Email Button Not Working

New Here ,
Feb 05, 2024 Feb 05, 2024

We run a Windows RDS environment with 4 app servers.

The app servers OS is Windows Server 2022, with all the latest updates installed. We use Microsoft Defender for anti-Virus.

We have Acrobat Reader (latest update) installed on all the app servers.

We have M365 apps for Business (latest update) installed on all the app servers.

After the latest Acrobat Reader update, our users have noticed the send to email button is not working anymore.

When clicked, a grey box will appear and just hang below the button, if you click the send to email button again, an error popup will appear saying “Adobe has encountered a problem some features may not work as expected”. A learn more button is available, and once clicked, it takes you to an Adobe page with some troubleshooting steps. https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/acrobat/kb/acrocef-rdrcef-errors.html

In addition to completing all the steps in the page above, I have also tried the following:

Un-installed – > deleted Adobe Registry entries –> Rebooted – > Re-installed.

And unfortunately, the issue is still present.

Any insight or assistance somebody can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

The latest Adobe Reader update has now fixed this issue for us.

However, had to un-install and re-install again beucase the update feature kept poping up with an error code.

After this it works now:

1. Delete Acrobat Reader on the RDS-Server

2. Rebbot

3. Adobe Deinstallation Tool for Acrobat Reader - AcroCleaner — Acrobat Desktop Tools and Utilities (adobe.com)

4. Reboot

5. Reinstall Acrobat Reader 32bit - Version 2023.008.20555

6. Reboot

7. Problem is fixed.....

I think the reboods aren't raely nessessary, but I want to stay on the save way... 🙂

Hope it helps...
