Slow print spooling on MAC using acrobat reader DC

We are having an issue with our printing on all Apple MACs, when printing some documents take extremely long to spool resulting in very slow printing (we use follow me printing and print through a server)

We are using PCL 6 Xerox drivers and Xerox printers. All other documents print fine but when it comes to pdf docs its giving major issues. (took 40 mins to spool 180 pages with text only on the page)

We have the latest versions installed as per our IT team.

Is there anything I can look at to have this resolved as we are facing a global issue on this.
