Text in writeable PDF not displaying in Acrobat Reader DC

I have forms filled in on a writeable PDF document. When opened using Acrobat Reader DC, much of the filled in text does not display but when opened in Chrome using the built-in PDF reader, the text displays in full and correctly.  The writeable PDF form was designed by someone else.Viewed in Chrome browserViewed in Acrobat Reader DC

What were you using to fill them out? Reader or Chrome or some other pdf viewer?
