Trying to open a bank form on a MacBook.

I have confirmed that I have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and added the website as a trusted host under security preferences.     I have a MacBook using 10.12 Sierra and Safari 10.1.   I think the problem might be that MacBooks are considered a mobile IOS device so I should be using a different version of Adobe?    Thanks,

Bruce

Apple Preview can't display this form. Save the form to the local disc and open it with Acrobat Reader.

Thanks for the last 3-4 comments everyone - they were helpful.  And thanks for your patience with a newbie.      My first problem was that I was not downloading the file to my local disc.   I was just letting the file try and open from the website link and stopping there.   Once I downloaded the file, I learned that the bank's link was not connected to a .pdf version of the form, and was instead sending me an .html version of the form.

They have corrected their link and now a .pdf version of the form downloads and I can right click on the file and open it in either adobe or Apple Preview.

Thanks and we can mark this is "closed".    Bruce

No, a MacBook is not a mobile device. Mobile devices are phones, tablets, etc. The version of Adobe Acrobat Reader is fine.

But you haven't said what your problem is, if any?

Sorry.   After clicking on the form to open it, I receive the following error message:    "The document you are trying to load requires Adobe Reader 8 or higher. You may not have the Adobe Reader installed or your viewing environment may not be properly configured to use Adobe Reader".

I confirmed I had the most recent version of Adobe Reader and that it was higher than 8.    I read some material on configuring my viewing environment, which lead me to the security preferences and adding the bank's website domain to the list of trusted hosts.

    Thanks,

    Bruce
