Unable to install Reader DC

I am using a MacBook. Adobe was working fine but then it started freezing once I opened the program. The pinwheel just kept spinning. So I uninstalled and am now attempting to install it again but once I try to run the installer the icon goes to the dock and just bounces. The bouncing eventually stops bouncing and then if I click on it nothing happens. I am unable to install Reader DC.
