Our organization has issues when opening PDF files from SharePoint 2013 on premises. The PDF files should be rendering in the SharePoint integrated Office Web Apps (WOPI) in order to view the file in the browser. It looks like the "PDF" from URL is being captured in Internet Explorer 11 (32bit) and Acrobat Reader shows the error "There was an error opening this document. the filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect". How can we disable Acrobat from trying to open the PDF in the browser so we can view PDF files in SharePoint's Office Web Apps?
Thanks
Dan

Have you tried disabling it in the browser preferences?

Internet Explorer 11 > Manage Add Ons > All Add-Ons do not contain any Adobe add-ons, so I can't disable Acrobat Reader in IE.

If Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7 does not display the Acrobat Add-Ons, where is the setting to disable integration of Acrobat with Internet Explorer? Is there a registry key that needs to be removed?

sorry for the play by play but I found the Internet Explorer Add-on under "Run without Permission". I disabled the Acrobat PDF add-on. I restarted the browser but I still have the same error: "There was an error opening this document. the filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect" as Acrobat tries to open the file identified in the browser URL.
Bottom line is disabling the add-on in IE does not fix the issue.

Is there a paid support option so I can get help to fix this issue?

I have this exact same issue with SharePoint 2013 on-prem as well. Did you (or anybody for that matter) happen to make any headway with this issue?
