Hi,
Unable to save pdf to local drive in SAP (no pop up comes to open/save) in Acrobat Reader DC. It was working fine with Adobe Reader XI.
We have upgraded version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to 18.011.20040 but still facing the same issue
SAP informed that this is related to Adobe. Please check asap as it is faced by lot of our employees.

Hello Wsmpilotr,
Sorry for the trouble, from the about description, I can understand that you are not able to save PDF to the local drive in SAP, Is that correct?
Is SAP is running a local process or something in the web browser? Which browser are you using and what is the version?
Is it a Mac or Windows machine and what is the version of OS installed? Can you download PDFs from other sources?
Reset Adobe Reader's Preferences once and reboot the machine, to reset the Preferences, refer to the steps mentioned in the article How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.
Reboot the machine after resetting the Preferences and see if this makes any difference.
Also, disable the Protected Mode of Adobe Reader, navigate to Edit>Preferences>Security(Enhanced)>uncheck "Enable Protected mode at startup".
Note: Disabling Protected mode is only for testing purpose, please enable it back Protected View feature for PDFs (Windows), Adobe Reader
Let us know how it goes and share your findings.
Regards,
Anand Sri.

Hi,
Please find below answers to your queries.
sap is running as a local process via SAPGUI
It is Windows machine and facing issue in Win7 and Win10 both
They can downlod pdf from other sources
IE11 is being used
Resetting Adobe Acrobat Reader DC prefences and rebooting didn't reolsve the issue
Also, unchecking 'Enable Protested Mode at Startup' didn't resolve the issue.
However on disabling the Adobe PDF reader Add-on, we are now convert the sap invoice into pdf and can save it to their local machine. I am not sure whether its a correct approach or this may be a bug in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Hello Wsmpilotr,
Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. Navigate to Edit>Preferences>Security(Enhanced )>Disable "Enable Enhanced Security". Is it possible to try with a different browser to save the PDFs?
If the workaround of disabling Adobe PDFReader add-on, you are able to convert the sap invoices into PDF on the local machine with, then check if disabling the "Show online Storage when opening the files" and "Show online Storage when saving the files" under Edit>Preferences>General makes any difference.
Is it possible to post a screenshot of the screen when you try to save the PDF? To share the screenshot, refer to https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7043#jive_content_id_How_do_I_attach_a_screenshot
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

What do you mean “no pop up comes”? If you are viewing in Reader what happens when you choose File > Save as? If not in Reader, what in?

When I do file save as I get a pop up but it is blank. My only work around for this problem of no longer being able to save to local is that I print to .pdf.

Hello,
I have same issue.
To reply to your question:
In SAP GUI, click on PDF save as button, no save as dialog box appeared.
In Acrobat Reader DC 2018.011.20040, click on Save as button launch the save as dialog box.
What do you mean by "disabling Adobe PDFReader add-on"? Is it in IE11?
Thanks
Alain

Hi all,
We had the same issue in our organization, the "Open/Save/Cancel" prompt was working in SAP when we had Adobe Reader XI, but after updating to Adobe Reader DC we noticed that it no longer displayed this option and simply opened the pdf on-screen.
This was indeed related to Adobe Reader, and not SAP - as the same issue occured in Internet Explorer too.
We found that the "EditFlags" registry value under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroPDF.PDF.1 controls this behavior. It's a Reg Binary value and if set to "00 00 01 00" the Save prompt will be suppressed. For us, changing this value back to "00 00 00 00" solves the issue.
It's a bit awkward to change the value unless running as the SYSTEM account, you may need to edit the security and take ownership of the key.
UPDATE:
We noticed that after updating Adobe Reader DC, the AcroPDF.PDF.1 setting reverts to the default behavior. You can specify the default behavior when you set up the Adobe Reader installation using the Acrobat Customization Wizard:
