Unknown Error blocking access to Acrobat Reader

Hello. I cannot access my Adobe Acrobat Reader. I use a Mac and have never had problems until a couple weeks ago.  As soon as I try to open it a window pops up, blocking my access to anything, saying:

An unknown error has occurred.
a786c9d9-79c9-4650-bfd8-12a0e3b1dd95

When I close the program & try again, the same thing happens every time.  I cannot access any preferences or any part of the program.  Customer Support reccomended to post on the forum.

Can anyone help?!
