We create password protected PDFs which contain links to external URLs.
These links work fine when we view the generated PDFs in chrome and firefox.
But the links are getting corrupted by Acrobat Reader.
One or more characters are getting corrupted (e.g "https://mywebiste.com/1234567" is trying to link to "https://mywebiste.com/123:567" or "https://my?ebiste.com/1234567")

I also have this same issue. Even I try to attempt methods

I tried with only one link rather than two, but it didn't make any difference.
Is it possible there is a bug in Adobe Reader that needs fixing?

It is not a bug of Acrobat Reader. It uses the url at the link.

No, the link URL is different. It's either a corruption at the file-structure level that's causing it to misinterpret it, or it's indeed a bug in Acrobat (or a combination of the two).

Thankyou try67 for this response - what is the next step forward in resolving this?
I am of course happy to do whatever I can at this end to provide further information.
If the same thing was happening in other PDF readers, I would of couse expect it to be down to the file structure, but it is working fine in other PDF readers.
I really appreciate your and Bernd's responses in working to get this resolved. Thanks.

You've said this doesn't happen when you don't apply a security policy when generating the file, right?
Could you provide such a sample file, please?

Hi try67
Just wondering if you have been able to make any more progress on this since I uploaded the sample file you requested.
Thanks very much.
Kind regards
Robin

There's not much I can do for you. I already recommended what steps you can take (report the issue to the developers of the app used to create the PDF and/or to adobe as a bug).

How do I report a bug to Adobe?

How do I report a bg to Adobe - I though that's what I was doing here?

No, this is mostly a user-to-user forum, although there are some Adobe employees around. It's not a way to report issues to Adobe directly. To do so use this form: https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Hi try67
I submitted a bug report using the link you suggested, but have not heard anything back.
Am I likely to get a response?
Thanks

AFAIK, not really. And don't expect an immediate fix, either.

That's not very good - is there anything else I can do to get some feedback - or any other contact method to use - e.g. email?

Not really.

How appalling!
We have a tiny team supporting large numbers of users and we almost always respond personally within 24 hours.
I would have thought a $10billion turover company could manage better!!!
