Hi richsufan,
Is it only with Acrobat Reader DC icon & PDF files or with other application & folder icons too?
Have you tried uninstalling & reinstalling Acrobat Reader DC?
Please attach an image of the screenshot showing the icon.

Aadesh,
Did you receive the desktop screenshot I sent via email yesterday?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times with the same results.

Hey richsufan,
By default, Windows stores the images for thumbnail previews in cache memory so that it can replace the images quickly each time you reopen a folder in Windows Explorer.
Note :-
The thumbnail cache .db files are located in the hidden system folder location below:
C:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
You may want to clear the thumbnail cache if the Windows Explorer thumbnail pictures have become corrupted and not displaying properly, or the thumbnail cache file has become to large and you want to clear some hard disk space.
Regards,
Aadesh

Hi richsufan,
Does clearing the thumbnail cache solve the issue?
If not, then Can you please try with the latest update of Acrobat DC / Reader that is available now. ?
Even if this doesn't solve your issue, then could you please let me know , what was your previous operating system version ?(before upgrading to Windows 10)
Thanks
Param

I am having the same problem after upgrading to Windows 10. Has anyone found an answer yet. In Windows 10 there are numerous icon cashes, so it's hard to tell which one to delete to try to solve the problem.

Hi wwhyland,
Please let us know if you are still facing the issue. Let us know the Windows 10 version you are using. This you can check by Win+R -> winver.
Also if you are still seeing the issue make sure you are updated to latest Acrobat DC update: (15.009.20077 Out Of Cycle Update, October 29, 2015 — Acrobat and Adobe Reader Release Notes)

I know this is old, but search has first sent me here, and I have found the solution elsewhere... so, here it is.
To Rebuild icon cache follow the below mentioned steps -
NOTE: This deletes the file to the Recycle Bin. It is safe to empty the Recycle Bin when finished.
(Shift + Delete deletes files immediately)
6. Empty the Recycle Bin.
7. Restart the computer (I have refreshed Desktop with Ctrl + F5)
