When using AcroPDFLib Control, hyperlinks will not open

Hi,

Hyperlinks in a PDF work fine when viewed in Acrobat DC, but not in the Acrobat Control.

For example, if I put an MP4 file on a Windows file server (i.e. \\fileserver\Common Files\Facilities\Videotest1.mp4). Then I open an Excel file and add some text, then highlight the text and right click on that text and add a hyperlink to the MP4 file (at the fileserver URL above). Now if I click the hyperlink in Excel it opens the video and plays it. If in Excel I go to “File/Save as Adobe PDF” and save it as a PDF. Then I open that PDF in Acrobat Reader DC, and click the link, it gives me a security warning, but if I tell it to proceed, it will play the video. But, if on the same PC, I create a C# Windows app, add the Adobe Reader Control, open the same PDF in it, and click the link, it gives the security warning, then I tell it to proceed, it will throw up a Message Window that says “Acrobat Reader” in the title bar with a message that says “Could not open the file ‘\\fileserver\Common Files\Facilities\Videotest1.mp4’”.

Can anyone help direct me how to make the control open these hyperlinks?

Thanks!

Joe
