Hello,
I have installed Adobe Reader DC on my laptop (I work on windows). I have not been able to open any PDF documents from the web, even from different sources.
I have tried copying the files and reopening them from my desktop, and I get an error message saying the files are not PDFs. This does not seem the answer,as I am definitely trying to access PDF documents.
Is the blank page that I access actually Adobe itself? Maybe it is just a case of the laptop not using adobe and then trying to open the PDF with another tool?
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling adobe with no results.
Thanks for your help!!
Hello Graffitithanks for your time in answering my question. I think you are right, the PDFs are dynamically generated and a copy and paste does not work. Based on your question I also tried to change my browser (originally internet explorer) to another one, with no positive results. After many attempts I am not convinced that my issue is not linked to adobe at all!Just trying to check if the firewall on my computer is blocking my web files from openimg
Thanks again for your supportStella

Hi Stellaf88559722,
You might be correct, It could be a possibility that the PDF file is not opening in the Adobe Reader application.
Please check whether Adobe Reader is set as default application to open the pdf doc or not?
Or
You may also refer to help document- Troubleshoot viewing PDF files on the web
Let us know if it still doesn't work.

Thanks for your quick response, Akanchha!
I have tried your suggestion, and even after asking for all files to be opened on Adobe, I still have the same issue.
It also appears that The system does not recognize the documents at PDF. They are definitely uploaded as PDF online. I'm not sure if this information helps. I'm just unable to open any document on Adobe
Thanks again
Regards
Stella

Is there a sample link to a document that you can provide? It could be that these pdf's are being dynamically generated so there would be no way to save them before opening them in your browser.
Also, what web browser do you use. Many do not use Adobe Reader to view pdf files these days and that may corrupt the file.

Please explain a little more about how you do this. Step by step, how are you "copying" the file and getting them to your desktop?

Just to be clear, are you clicking on a link to get to these pdf's? Assuming you are, what is the very last part of the URL? Does it end with .pdf?
